Texas Part One

We left for our trip on Friday, July 3rd. We drove all the way to Marlow, OK where Aunt Sherril and a bunch of David's family live. We stayed with his cousin Robin and her husband, Roy. Marlow is a small town very similar to Monte Vista, but it has a great fireworks show, which is what takes us there most years. This year, however, there was a giant rainstorm about two hours before the show was supposed to start, so they cancelled it. That was pretty disappointing, but they rescheduled it for the next night. We were anxious to get to Texas, so we left anyway the next morning and went to stay at Cameron and Karen's.

Cam's parents had just left to be the president of Budapest, Hungary mission, so Cam and Karen moved into his parents' house and put theirs up for rent. It is a very nice and large house, so John and Marsha (Grandpa and Grandma) were able to stay there as well and we had tons of room to spread out. The kids' favorite thing was the pool, which they spent plenty of time in! It was also fun to get to play with Dylan. He has such a cute little personality and it was fun to spend time with him.

Here is Paige, Braxten, who is Emma's step-son, Jenna and Jack. David took this from the second floor balcony. Paige is like a fish in the water and is a pretty good swimmer. She and Braxten are only a couple weeks apart in age and get along swimmingly. (hehe) Jenna is a lot more afraid of the water and refuses to put he nose in. Notice the two sets of arm floaties. And she is always one to strike a pose when she is getting her picture taken. Jack started out a lot like Jenna, but by the end of the week, he was jumping in and trying to swim underwater.
